Floral Print Ghicha Tussar

Ghicha silk has an origin story rooted in resourcefulness. It's spun from the pierced, shorter threads left after the finer Tussar silk is reeled away, and for generations, weavers in eastern India, the Santhal and Oraon communities among them, turned that yarn into a fabric entirely its own: textured, slubby, and unmistakably handmade. Its irregularity isn't a flaw to work around. It's the whole point, a texture no machine or finer silk could replicate.

This saree carries that character through an olive-toned body, scattered with a fine, dense trail of small teal florals, restrained and even, letting the fabric's natural slub set the tone. A slim charcoal-and-navy border runs the length of the drape before opening into the pallu, where the palette shifts into bold indigo and teal stripes, each lined with fine zari, structured and graphic against the softer ground fabric.

It's a saree built on contrast within a single material: earthy where the body is concerned, precise where the pallu takes over, with a texture that carries generations of weaving skill in every slub.
